    Magpie Goose (Mark T) has had a change of heart & whilst his beloved R1200GS takes a "break", Mark has literally been carried away to riding a "chopper". The series of pics below tell the story.

    As one can see, Mark unfortunately took a fall in the dirt on Tuesday 8 Dec ride, :( just off the tar at West Bellthorpe on the way to the Jimna Fire Tower for a Simone Stove' experience with Rob & Steve. Rob was travelling behind a short way & watched :eek as MT performed a stunningly beautiful, highside, aerial pirouette with feet in the extended upper position(10 points). :( Sadly, “Wot goz up, must come down” as it did in Mark's case. Like The Man Who Fell To Earth” so did our Mark. The second part of the manoeuvre was not as gracious as the first part as one can imagine. At first it seemed a sore rib & a winding were the result but as seconds ticked by it was clear the “Dancing Queen” was not in a good way & Zero Zero Zero was the go. Three times Rob went back some klicks to return with all the Emergency Services who thought this would be a good training exercise. (Not really, they are Brilliant). As the road was very bumpy & not condusive to gentle transportation, the Air Wing was called in and Mark was flown to the RHB by Chopper (not Reid) where it was confirmed that he had sustained 8 fractured ribs, a Right Pnuemothorax (air in the chest cavity) & extensive bruising down the right side. <!>OUCH<!>. Due to the imminent Wild Geese Annual Luncheon Flocking on Sunday 13 Dec at Zana's, Mark has understandably decided to stay in hospital for a rest.

    Dear Mark, All The Wild Geese are saddened by your plight & hope & pray you soon return to flight.

    Update 14.12.09 - Improving, standing, drain still in, grumpy but better. Update 17.12.09 - Improving, seems to over the worst of it although the few complications were not very welcome. Moving to a ward on Thursday. Update 20.12.09 - Improving still and now in a ward. Looking good.

    Update 26.12.09 - The sun is up the grass has riz MT Goose is back at Biz. Doctors kicked him out & on his way to home again on Christmas Day. From Wild Geese Riders, One and All, glad you have recovered from your fall. HIP HIP HOORAY!!! :]:]:]
