The Wild Geese

The Cape

Jo Goose reports:

We reached the 'Cape of Good Hope' ahead of a large coach full of tourists - and some China man took the photo for us. We had 'good hope' that the weather would improve but we rode into the heaviest storm in 7 years in South Africa, we had snow, hail, ice and a lot of rain for three days!

On the gravel road to Willowmore, the weather was ice cold with snow on the peaks. The day before we rode in snow and temperatures hovering around the freezing point, had water in our boots and toes almost went numb from the cold. The boots are water tight, once the water is in, it doesn't go out!

Anyway, we made it! We reached the Southernmost point in Africa, Cape Agulhas. There was no one else, and we expected a big tourist trap. Flag has been raised, photos shot, ticked off the list. We are planning for next year, maybe Tierra del Fuego in South America or Mongolia anyone?
