February 2012

  • February 17th-19th - Australian Motorcycle Expo - Gold Coast. Also featuring the Australian Personal Water Craft Show & The Australian Scooter Festival is back at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre from Friday 17th - Sunday 19th February 2012. See the latest in motorcycle, scooter and personal watercraft technology. See freestyle motocross, mini bike mayhem and the world's best jetski riders in Action Arena. This is a good show and worthy of the trip. I did it last year and stayed overnight, but I could just as easily returned the same day. Suggestions for the route please. (e.g. Mt. Glorious/ Tambourine Mtns. or dare I say it - The highway!) Also which day. Sunday will be a mad house and most saleable stuff is gone along with some of the exhibitors. I will most likely go on the Friday or Saturday via this route. For those with a tollroad chip, a turn south onto the Mt. Lindsay Hwy will do just as well.

Is anybody familiar with secure parking around the convention centre in Broadbeach? The centre has parking at $5.00 per day for motorcycles & $10.00 flat rate per car.

For those not attending the show, the usual Any Sunday meeting times and place will apply

  • Paradise Dam, Mt Perry then o/n at Commercial Hotel Biggenden. More details closer to the "Off" which will be early in March when the wever's a bit cooler

  • March 2012 - Suggesting a ride to the Bunya Mountains for at least an overnight stay. Contact Col ( cs@frozentime.com.au )with preferences for dates and suggestions for bookings, etc. Should be a nice easy ride before it gets too cold.
