The Wild Geese

Nymboida Dash 2010

Jag Qupie Tigger And Rob headed out to Killarney Pub via Boonah &The Lions Rd on Mon 21 for a great ride thru the ranges. On the way a coffee break @ Fernvale saw Tigger & Jag attempting to adjust excellent but firm :;), Suzuki sports suspension. The stop for lunch at the Rosedale Pub was a nogo as that was the only day the cook had off so we lunched at the Boonah Pub, a much better venue. After some time on an "animal welfare issue" at The Loop Lookout, (looked like a Tassie Tiger :eek) off thru The Risk &west to Woodenbong. Comments from some like "S*@T this road's *%#@ing bumpy" were heard on the way (well maybe thought) but Robs Red Special R 1200Gs just soaked up the terrain:;) (He's just so full of it!)

The Wild Geese welcome at the Killarney Pub was, as usual warm & hospitable with lecky blankets clicked on high soon after arrival with dinner & "light" refreshments thereafter. (BS they say as RR was out of it :evil)

Tuesday morning with a very early start (0930 :lol) off along to QMF, & the Ridge to Boonah to pick up Soody who was travelling a day behind before heading south to Ubenville & onto the Clarence Way to Grafton via a variety of made & unmade roads which have in the past unsettled some of our more "traditional" riders but which posed no problems whatsoever for our newest recruit to "Wild Geese Wanderings"

Clarence River Stop Sue was on a "pit stop"

Our destination, The Nymboida River Coach Station, Link turned out to be one of our best stops for a long time. Manager Ashleigh & her crew are commended & provided us with a memorable stay,(personal tour of the museum, delicious meals, introduction to some new "nectars", great hospitality, a thrashing at snooker,(or was that Helen belting the stuffing out of our very own snooker professional? :b) The night was long, the fire was warm, Wild Geese partied till nearly dawn & after brekkie, in light rain, headed south to ride again. The day was cold, maybe 5 but not above, one Goose prayed for better gloves!

Armidale Road, Waterfall Way to Guyra for lunch & a quick mobile phone lesson on helmet maintanence from Neil saw us off north to T'Woomba in rain & low pea soup mist to Hampton down thru Esk & home safely, albeit a bit late at 2230. (Rob thought he was reading the time but was actually his odometer read out, 2030 kms):o

Thanks to those that flew, who cared & watched out for each other & who made it another memorable Wild Geese Trip. Where to next?
