The Wild Geese

Mount Widgee

Absolutely spectacular. Once upon a day Jo & Rob went for a ride. Well that's an understatment if ever I heard one. The usual route to Imbil and coffee before out the back of Dagun, Kadanga, Ammamor to Widgee and up the hill.

"Mount Widgee Lookout looks good" said Rob and off they went. The deep water/mud hole had Josef a little perplexed, (another understatement & there are pics of this), but that was not too bad compared to the steep, loose gravelled, stoned strewn, grass growing in-the-middle-of-the-******* track, that Rob just took in his stride. (Oh really!!) In truth it was so steep that once he got on it, it was too late to turn back. On and UP with no say in it.

Josef used his brains and took a rest whilst Rob shook himself and the bike nearly to pieces. The end was worth it and the view, sublime. Thought that the sign addressed to "Pilots" was for commercial air craft passing by but it was actually for the hang-gliding club.

If a tree falls in a forest and no one is there, does it make a sound? Same could be asked of a GS in a mud hole, if no one else sees, did it really happen Rob?

After all this, the ride on the gravel roads out through the Conondales was a breeze, and across the top just now it is perfect riding with good speed attained with safety.

Stopping at Peach Trees (camping being planned for this location), to watch the roos and a dingo before a pleasant run through the forests to Kenilworth via Sunday Creek. (Watch the dark forest sections where the road is clay and slippery.)

A fitting end to the ride was when coming along the top of the range after the Obi Hill Climb we meet Stop Goose riding out the other way. To Nambour car wash for some rejuvinating suds and home. A Perfect Day, Thanks Jo. R

For those that weren't there, you missed out on a really good one. R
