Imbil Rally 05

The 05 Rally was a great weekend even if a noisy one for me. Camped down near the river on Friday and when I came back on the Saturday I was surrounded by Harleys and the associated crowd. Good to see a few old faces (sorry) around the place and also good to meet up with them again.

Wocky had his brother up for the weekend and Steve met up with the SSC Ulysses who were there in goodly numbers. Saturday night was a doozy as usual. Gathering together in a jammed packed covered area the music began and the booze flowed and the noise increased. Went on till 2.00am but I was far gone long before that until an explosion near my tent roused me in .005 of a second. (There's always a few.)

An early morning ride out to the lake and hills was very rewarding and the scene so peaceful in contrast to the Rally site. Worth it.

Coolum Cafe saw a sizable number turn out on Sunday but by the time they arrived at Imbil Cafe only four managed to hold on. Still, good to get out there and a ride out to Borumba Dam is always pleasant.

Peter & Peter have met up again after 31 years and all due to a meeting on a ride one day a few weeks ago. They are preparing a short story which will be posted in the News soon.

Sitting back at the Peppers Cafe in Imbil on Sunday morning was very relaxing. Just watching a few hundred bikes, trikes, sidecars and the like pass by. The Rally is a good place to catch up with many others that one sometimes meets on the road and away. Waited till the pub opened, a light ale and off for a ride through to Landsborough via KW, Obi Obi, Mapleton Pub for lunch and home. See you next year.

Here is my take on the weekend, in a few photos and fewer words. Suffice to say, it was great fun again. -- Gizmo
