The Wild Geese

G S Anniversary Done And Dusted

3-4 September 2005

The GS Anniversary Weekend was a great success. The open day at Coastline was well supported by The Geese and a few others.;) In the afternoon the Geese headed off on a ride through the hills and a pitstop at the Penny Farthing in Montville.

On Sunday a good sized group met at the Coolum Cafe, then joining up with others at Coastline, headed out through the hills to Imbil, collecting Gizmo on the way. Gizmo was only with us to Eumindi Road as when he passed the leader, we turned left. (See you in Linville Steve!!).

Murray left us at Imbil which may have been a good idea for a couple of others as the so called road that Jim would take his RT on turned out to be the Mt Buggery Road.

Stop Goose (Chris) aquitted himself splendidly on his R100PD with road tyres on too! Only one wet place where a bit of help from his friends came in handy.

A dry stoney creek saw Rob come unstuck, spilling rider & pillion to the ground (rocks). A bump here a dent there, oh well, it is an adventure :rolleyes

After that the dirt road was welcome and the ride into Linville was taken at a good pace by all.

Linville for lunch was a good idea and the little historic village quite welcoming. The staff at the hotel did a splendid job with the meals as a hundred or more happy riders from around SEQ soaked up the sun and the ambiance.8)

Congratulations to Jim Peters for the well organised and enjoyable ride.
