The Wild GeeseD I Y Earplug Kits
Need earplugs for your bike, the garden mower, the workbench? Do you want custom earplugs moulded to the exact shape of your ear? Make your own! I have, from two-component cold-curing silicone, and they work well. I have made plain earplugs for use with helmets equipped with their own speakers, and made others incorporating walkman earbuds which I can connect directly to my MP3 player. I can now supply cheap kits with which you can make your own earplugs. Full instructions are included.
The standard kit includes enough silicone to make two earplugs which will sit snugly in the ear. Alternatively you can use this kit to make earplugs incorporating the earbud speakers supplied with your MP3 player, which will allow you to listen to your music whilst riding. As well as reducing external noise this setup holds the earbud speakers securely in the ear. The standard kit costs just $15.
The large kit includes 50% more silicone which will result in a thicker earplug and therefore slightly better noise isolation. This is probably more silicone than you need, but may be a good choice if you have larger than average ears. In most cases it should provide enough silicone for two sets of earplugs. This kit costs $20.
