Bunya Mountains
Six on a ride to the hinterland and Imbil for the Sunday and then three Geese including Werner, were the only takers on a trip to the mountains over the Anzac Long weekend.
The weather was perfect, cool and clear and the mountains were alive with folk out for a happy time. Just as well as there were only 3 as the camping grounds were full and we just squeezed in on sunset at the same place as last year.
A quick and interesting ride there up through the Conondale Range on the gravel with no real challenges. The ride up across the mountains behind Widgee was quite easy and will be travelled more often as it comes out on the Jimna Road and is much easier than the Mt Buggery track from Imbil. Dry and well packed mostly which lends itself to confidence building in those who are less accustomed to the dirt (more of it is the go). The tar top riders are really missing out.
A weekend ride that way to stop at Peach Tree Camp Ground would be a good trip. More later.
Bunya Trees & the road through the mountains make this a great ride.
