Any Sunday Jan 15th
Another good turn out at the Benchmark Cafe "OFF" and it seems that our idea to flock together, at a point first, chat for the obligatory 30mins (actually 40, watch it
). Flock Off & Ride is being accepted quite well & interesting, enjoyable rides ensue.
Our ride to Mt Mee was achieved via the twisties along the Dulong Range thru to Landsbourough out along the GHM back roads & pineapple fields to Wamuran & up Campbells Pkt Rd & out along the Mt Mee Road in threatening showers which held off for most of the day with only quack drying shower or 2 on the way home thru Kenilworth.
We welcomed Richard from Valdora who joined 7 Geese for this run after deciding to change steeds from his beloved Norton to his R1150RT.
The Pitt Stop site has probably the best scenery on the mountain with views up and down the Mt Pleasant Valley, past Dayboro and the North Pine Dam all the way to Brisbane City in the distance. On a clear day you can see the sand dunes on Moreton and North Stradbroke Island. On this day we sat &watched the rain showers drift north along the valley. The food is simple, well priced & met with Ozzie's "standards", which, if you are familar with them, says a lot
Pitt Stop would be a decent place to drop by on a run back from Mt Glorious anytime we do a anti-clock-wise ride. The place is increasing their stock of motoring memorabilia bit by bit and we shall watch them as they grow.
Next Rides: Weather permitting - Thurs Jan 16 & - Sun Jan 22
