The Wild Geese

Annual Picnic 2005

Ride Reports

Annual Wild Geese Picnic Ride to Lake Baroon at Maleny.

Well, it was another great gathering of The Wild Geese, the occasional shower totally failed to put a damper on the proceedings and a goodly number showed.

The ride out through the hills was the usual flight plan and once again most enjoyable. Up through the Obi Obi to Mapleton in sunshine was very good but sorry not to get more pics of Geese on bends and the ride down to the Lake just as good with more bends. Country roads, just love 'em.

Whilst most relaxed and ate lunch, Mick, Ena and Steve chose to get deliberately soaked by going catamaran sailing on the dam, in glorious sunshine as it turned out. A brisk breeze made for lively competition.

The ride home was enlivened by a little bike swapping. Wife swapping was considered, but Steve doesn't have one (any wonder?) so Mick, Shaun and Steve decided to swap bikes instead. Good, clean, harmless fun. An exhilerating day all round, thanks to all who could get there for making it a fine happening. And for those who couldn't, you were all missed. See you soon on another Wild Geese sojourn.

Next week camping in the Bunya Mountains, LG!
